How Nevada CE works

Three things to know about the system itself.

Nevada’s continuing-education rules are specific and category-driven. If you understand these three things, the rest of the page makes more sense.

01
36hrs

Required per renewal cycle

Total CE hours required by the Nevada Real Estate Division for a standard renewal. Cycle length and exact total are confirmed against your license record when you sign up.

02
6categories

Tracked separately

Agency, Law, Contracts, Ethics, Risk Reduction, and General electives. NRED counts them independently. You can't make up an Ethics shortfall with extra General hours.

Lurnor doesn't file for you

Lurnor is your approved CE provider; the licensee submits the renewal or reinstatement directly to NRED. Our job is to make sure your CE is bulletproof when you do.

Online and live, in the right mix

Nevada requires a minimum of live instruction. Not every hour can be online.

When you sign up we’ll show you which of your remaining hours can be completed online versus which need to be taken live, so you don’t accidentally over-stack distance ed and come up short.

Online distance edMost elective and topic hours can be completed online at your pace through Lurnor.
Mobile, paused, resumedPick up exactly where you left off on phone, tablet, or desktop.
Some hours require live instructionThe Division mandates a portion of every renewal be completed with a live instructor.
Live sessions are scheduled separatelyWe'll flag in your dashboard which categories still need live attendance, so there's no guessing.

What is Nevada real estate continuing education, in plain terms?
Continuing education (CE) is the ongoing coursework Nevada real-estate licensees complete to keep their license in good standing. The Nevada Real Estate Division (NRED) sets the rules: a required number of hours per renewal cycle, split across six specific categories. CE is taken from approved providers like Lurnor; the licensee then submits the renewal or reinstatement to NRED themselves.
How many CE hours does Nevada require, and which categories?
A standard Nevada renewal is 36 hours across 6 categories: Agency (3), Law & Legislation (3), Contracts (6), Ethics (3), Risk Reduction (3), General (18). NRED counts each category separately; you can't cover an Ethics shortfall with extra General hours. The exact requirement for your license type and renewal cycle is confirmed against your license record when you sign up.
Is Lurnor an approved CE provider in Nevada?
Yes. Lurnor is an approved Nevada Real Estate Division CE provider. Lurnor's Nevada CE courses are reviewed and approved before they appear in the catalog, and category codes line up with how NRED counts hours.
Can I complete every hour online?
No. Nevada requires a minimum portion of each renewal to be completed with a live instructor. Lurnor's dashboard shows which of your remaining hours can be completed online versus which need a live session, so you don't accidentally over-stack distance education.
Does Lurnor file my renewal or reinstatement with NRED?
No. Lurnor is your CE provider; the licensee submits the renewal or reinstatement directly to the Nevada Real Estate Division and pays any Division fees. Our job is to make sure your CE is complete, in the right categories, and certified before you sit down to file.
What happens to certificates after I complete a course?
Your certificate is generated and downloadable the moment you pass the final exam, and the hours drop into the matching category in your dashboard. Keep the certificate. It's your record of completion for the Division and your own files.
I'm partway through CE with another provider. Can I import existing hours?
You can mark hours already completed elsewhere. Lurnor uses that to compute what's left for your cycle so you only pay for and study the remaining gap. Keep the original provider's certificates on file alongside Lurnor's; you'll want both when you file.
